About the Big Brothers Big Sisters Dino Dash 5K
The course runs around Sikes Lake, so you get water views for most of the route. It is flat with a paved path, and the surroundings are open and easy to follow. Dinosaur costumes are common in the field, and there is a costume contest, so do not be surprised if a T-Rex passes you in the final stretch.
Food trucks and vendors set up near the start, and there is a bounce house on site for kids who come to watch. The race benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the atmosphere around the lake reflects that, with families making up a big part of the crowd.
