About the Best Damn Leftover 5K
The course runs along the waterfront in Safety Harbor, starting and finishing at Veterans Memorial Lane. The docks are part of the scenery here, and the route has the feel of a neighborhood run rather than a produced event. It is flat along the water, and the surroundings are quiet enough that you notice them.
The post-race party is a real draw. There is food and drinks, and the finish area has a grab-bag quality to it, with surplus gear from years of past events piled up for people to sort through. Runners tend to linger.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2025 results, this is a decent-sized field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Best Damn Leftover 5K has been held every year since at least 2016. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
