About the Bank of Ocean City Bethany-Fenwick Turkey Trot
The course winds through downtown Bethany Beach, staying close to the boardwalk area and finishing near the bandstand. It is short and unhurried, with no significant hills, and draws a mix of serious runners and people in full Thanksgiving costumes. Pies go to the top male and female finishers, and more pies go to the best costumes, individual, family, and pet.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a nearby steakhouse, which the organizers strongly encourage over race-morning pickup. On race morning, a DJ and a juggling act keep things lively at the bandstand before the start. The race benefits the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company, and the event collects non-perishable food donations for a local food pantry.
