About the Back The Track 5K
The course is paved, running through the school complex and out along the Falling Springs Bypass before returning to finish on the high school's track. It is an evening race, which gives it a different feel from a typical morning start. Runners are encouraged to wear black and gold, and a spirit award goes to the best-dressed adult and child.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a church in Midway, with pickup also available at the high school on race night. Before the main event, a stick horse race for younger kids opens for sign-ups on the night itself, with food trucks parked on site throughout the evening.

The Back The Track 5K has been held every year since at least 2025. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
