About the Back the Blue
The course starts at a park on the ranch side and heads out along a creek levee trail, paved and mostly flat with marked turnaround points for each distance. The surroundings along the levee are open and scenic, and the out-and-back shape means you pass other runners heading the opposite direction, which gives the morning a sociable feel.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the parking lot near the Gilroy Police Department, with race-morning pickup available at the park starting early. Strollers are welcome but asked to line up toward the back. No pets on the course. First responder displays and vendor booths are set up near the finish area.
