About the Garlic City Turkey Trot
The course starts at Gilroy Sports Park and follows a paved path through Levee Park Preserve, with oak trees running alongside most of the route. It is essentially flat the whole way, and the surface is smooth enough for strollers and mobility devices. Walkers and ruckers are on the course alongside runners, which sets a pretty unhurried tone for a Thanksgiving morning.
The event is cupless, so bring a bottle or a collapsible cup for the aid station at the midpoint. Snacks are at the finish line, and coffee is available for purchase from a local vendor. There are no food trucks, which the organizers mention specifically since most people are heading to family gatherings right after.
