About the 2026 Auburn Toys for Tots 5K/10K

The race starts at an elementary school and is run in coordination with a Marine Corps toy drive, with runners encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to donate at the start. Several distance options mean the morning draws a wide range of runners, from kids doing the short course to people putting in a solid effort on the longer route. The surrounding area is residential Auburn.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local frozen yogurt shop, with race-morning pickup available at the elementary school starting well before the first wave goes off. Parking is spread across the school lot, a playground across the street, and a lot near a nearby park, so there is usually somewhere to pull in.

Common Questions About the 2026 Auburn Toys for Tots 5K/10K

Will I finish last at the 2026 Auburn Toys for Tots 5K/10K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 34:35, and the last recorded finisher came in around 58:28, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 2026 Auburn Toys for Tots 5K/10K a good first 5K?

It is a small race (88 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 2026 Auburn Toys for Tots 5K/10K?

The 5K winner ran 18:19 while the median finisher took 34:35. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
