About the Around the World Run

The course starts and finishes at Cape Fear Botanical Garden, which gives the morning a pleasant backdrop even before the festival around it gets going. The route is a timed run, and the surrounding grounds make for a more interesting setting than a typical road loop. The race benefits a scholarship fund for military families.

Packet pickup the evening before is at a taproom on Maiden Lane, which makes for a convenient stop. If you miss it, pickup is available at the garden before the start. Parking is at the botanical garden itself, so you arrive and stay in one place.
