About the 82nd Airborne Division Association's 3rd Annual 9/11 Run to Remember 5K
The course runs out and back along the Longleaf Pine Trail inside Carvers Creek State Park, accessed from Ramsey Street. Expect a natural surface underfoot with tree cover typical of the sandhills terrain. The event is untimed, and participants can run, ruck, or walk. It is held in memory of those lost on that day, with proceeds benefiting a national fallen firefighters foundation.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the association's national office on Raeford Road. If that does not work, race-day pickup is available at the registration table, but plan to arrive well before the start. The park's Sandhills Access entrance must be reached from Ramsey Street, so account for that when mapping your route in.
