About the Apex Hispanic Heritage 5K

The course runs from Bell Tower Shops, an outdoor shopping center in Fort Myers. The route is chip-timed for the full distance, with a shorter fun run option starting shortly after. Participants are encouraged to wear heritage-themed outfits and carry flags representing a country of their choosing, so the start line looks more like a parade than a typical race morning.

Packet pickup is the evening before at Fleet Feet Fort Myers, with a second window on race morning before the start. After the race, a Latin couples dance competition takes over, open to anyone who signs up with the DJ beforehand. Awards follow the competition, and you need to be present to collect.

Finish-Time Stats

Going by the 2025 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

Common Questions About the Apex Hispanic Heritage 5K

Will I finish last at the Apex Hispanic Heritage 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 36:31, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:07:26, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Apex Hispanic Heritage 5K a good first 5K?

A field of 247 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Apex Hispanic Heritage 5K?

The 5K winner ran 17:22 while the median finisher took 36:31. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
