About the Annie Curtis Half Marathon & 5K
The course runs through downtown Anacortes and along its waterfront, starting and finishing at the Depot, a historic building at the heart of town. The town itself is named for Annie Curtis, the wife of the railroad surveyor who first settled on Fidalgo Island, and that history gives the race a sense of place that goes beyond a logo.
The Depot start puts you in walkable distance of the downtown shops and streets worth wandering after you finish. Aid stations are staffed by people who actually cheer, and chip timing is handled throughout.
