About the AnMed Rhythm on the River 5k & 1 Mile

The course loops Dolly Cooper Park along the Saluda River, passing sports fields and through the disc golf course before returning to the festival area. The trail is mostly packed dirt, mostly flat, with one real hill in the mix. The longer distance runs the loop several times; the shorter option completes it once.

Packet pickup happens race morning at a table set up near the start and finish. Bibs are assigned there on the spot. Parking is at the park itself; arriving early gives you time to park, check in, and settle before the pre-race briefing. After the race, a full festival gets underway with live music and food trucks along the river.

Common Questions About the AnMed Rhythm on the River 5k & 1 Mile

Will I finish last at the AnMed Rhythm on the River 5k & 1 Mile?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 43:14, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:15:47, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the AnMed Rhythm on the River 5k & 1 Mile a good first 5K?

A field of 207 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the AnMed Rhythm on the River 5k & 1 Mile?

The 5K winner ran 23:45 while the median finisher took 43:14. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
