About the 50th Annual Andouille Run/Walk

The Andouille Run/Walk takes place during a local festival, so the finish line leads directly into something worth sticking around for. The race offers a shorter and a longer distance option, both run/walk friendly. It is costume season, and dressing up is part of the culture here, not an afterthought.

Packet pickup runs through the week before at the parish complex, with race-morning pickup available on the festival grounds. The post-race spread includes jambalaya, red beans, cold beer, and live music. Your entry also gets you into the festival itself.

Common Questions About the 50th Annual Andouille Run/Walk

Will I finish last at the 50th Annual Andouille Run/Walk?

Almost certainly not. Half the 2 Miles field finished slower than 23:40, and the last recorded finisher came in around 44:48, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 50th Annual Andouille Run/Walk a good first 2 Miles?

It is a small race (117 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 2 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 50th Annual Andouille Run/Walk?

The 2 Miles winner ran 12:24 while the median finisher took 23:40. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
