About the 5th Annual American Legion Auxiliary Turkey Trot
Mineral Wells Park anchors both ends of the route, a Thanksgiving morning run that benefits veterans through the local American Legion post. The terrain is park-based, so expect a fairly even surface without much in the way of serious climbing. Proceeds go directly toward veteran support programs run by the post.
Donuts and hot chocolate are waiting at the finish. The race is organized by the American Legion LeBron Post family, so the atmosphere around the start and finish tends to reflect that connection to the veteran community rather than a purely athletic event.
