About the Amazing Race For Charity

This is a team challenge race, not a standard road run. You and a partner move through Eustis solving mental and physical puzzles along the way, and the course itself is kept secret until shortly before race day. Expect to get wet. The challenges vary enough that pure running speed is not the deciding factor, and costume judging happens right at the start.

Common Questions About the Amazing Race For Charity

Will I finish last at the Amazing Race For Charity?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5 Miles field finished slower than 2:10:17, and the last recorded finisher came in around 3:00:50, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Amazing Race For Charity a good first 5 Miles?

It is a small race (70 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Amazing Race For Charity?

The 5 Miles winner ran 1:22:50 while the median finisher took 2:10:17. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
