About the AKTIVE LEGACY 5K

The race is organized by Pink Ivy Corporation, a nonprofit focused on scholarships, women's health, and community support, so the cause is woven into the event itself. The course runs out of Viera Regional Park, an open park setting that keeps things straightforward underfoot. There is food and beverages at the finish line.

Packet pickup the evening before is at a local running store on the north side of Melbourne. Race-morning pickup opens at the park well before the start, with a window that closes shortly before the gun. The start area is the Rotary Pavilion at the park, easy to find with the address in hand.

Common Questions About the AKTIVE LEGACY 5K

Will I finish last at the AKTIVE LEGACY 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 42:00, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:10:25, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the AKTIVE LEGACY 5K a good first 5K?

It is a small race (124 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the AKTIVE LEGACY 5K?

The 5K winner ran 19:50 while the median finisher took 42:00. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
