About the Aberdeen Santa Run 5K Fun Run/Walk
The course runs through Wylie Park, and the crowd looks about the same the whole way: a sea of Santa suits. Participants are strongly encouraged to run or walk in costume, so the field tends to be dressed for the part. The route is through a park setting, and the mood matches the outfits. All ages and paces are out there together.
The race benefits a local school cross country program, which gives it a clear hometown purpose. If severe weather forces a cancellation, the event shifts to a virtual format rather than issuing refunds, so it is worth knowing that going in.
