About the 9th Annual - A Walk in Her Shoes
This is a cancer awareness walk that moves to a different Cleveland neighborhood on a rotating basis, bringing the event directly into the communities it serves. This year it is based at the Fatima Family Center on Lexington Avenue. The route covers a short loop through the surrounding neighborhood, and the pace is set by the people walking it, survivors, caregivers, and families side by side.
The morning begins with a community gathering, opening remarks, and recognitions for cancer warriors before the walk sets off. Afterward there is a celebration with music, a community resource fair, local vendors, and health and wellness offerings. People who prefer to stay on-site rather than walk are welcome to do the same.
