About the 9/11 25th Anniversary Memorial 5K Run/Walk
This race is a memorial event organized by the Bluffton Firefighter Foundation, run in partnership with a local running store. The route has not been published yet, but the purpose is clear: it raises money for a fund that supports local firefighters and their families through injuries and unexpected hardship. The occasion gives the morning a weight that most races do not carry.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at Palmetto Running Company in Bluffton. Trophies go to overall winners, and age group awards are handed out across a broad spread of categories.
