Fort Lauderdale, FL
This race is a school event, so the atmosphere runs toward families and students rather than a fast-pack field. The course is not described in detail, but the setting ties it to the school grounds and the surrounding area of Fort Lauderdale. Proceeds support a children's hospital, which shapes who shows up and why.
