This race started as a tribute to one runner's mother, who died of breast cancer, and that origin still shapes the whole morning. Proceeds go toward a fund at Holy Trinity School that helps families cover tuition when finances get tight, so the finish line tends to feel like a neighborhood gathering rather than a standard road race.
