About This Club

Bethesda/Rockville Run Club is a social running group based in the NoBe neighborhood of Bethesda, meeting every Monday at 6:00 PM. It exists specifically to connect runners in the Bethesda, NoBe, and Rockville area who want company on their miles rather than a competitive training environment. At a 9-11 minute pace over a 5k distance, it is built around a pace most people can hold while actually having a conversation.

Who It Suits

This is a good match if you are building a running habit, coming back after time off, or simply tired of running alone in the suburbs and want a consistent Monday anchor. If you are training at a faster pace and need speed work or tempo runs, the 9-11 minute pace range is probably slower than what you are looking for.

What a Run With Them Is Like

Every run is a 5k, so you know exactly what you are signing up for before you show up. The pace sits on the slower end, around 9-11 minutes per mile, and when the group is large enough, it typically splits into faster and slower options so nobody gets left behind or held back.

Routes pull from some genuinely nice terrain in the area, including Rock Creek Park, the Bethesda Trolley Trail, and the Capital Crescent Trail.

Your First Run

Show up to either Harris Teeter at 4805 Battery Lane or Chopt Creative Salad Co. at 4766 Bethesda Ave by 6:00 PM on a Monday - they list both as meeting spots, so check their social channels to confirm which one is active that week before you head out.

No membership, no sign-up form, and no fee required, you can just show up. The 9-11 minute pace range is there on purpose, and the group splits when it needs to, so running at the back of the pack is not a problem here.
