About the Zoo Zoom - Run with the Herd 5K
The course starts at Ravens Gate and finishes at Waterfowl Pavilion, looping through the zoo grounds a couple of times. The race runs on the same paths where the animals live, so the surroundings are unlike most road races. It is Halloween-themed, and costumes are part of the scene, not just tolerated.
Packet pickup is available a couple of days before the race at a local running store in Fells Point, with an additional pickup window at the zoo's main gate the day before. Race-morning pickup opens early at the main gate. After the run, food trucks and a photo booth set up at Waterfowl Pavilion, and zoo admission is part of the ticket.
