About the Zombie Dogz 5K
The course begins on the horse racing track at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway, which is not something most 5Ks can say. From there it heads out into an evening loop before coming back to the raceway to finish. Costumes are encouraged, dogs included, so expect a lot of zombie makeup and dressed-up pets at the start line.
The race is part of a larger fall festival at the raceway that includes camel races, ostrich races, wiener dog races, mini Highland cows, and food trucks. The festival runs for several hours before the 5K gun goes off, so arriving early gives you plenty to do. Bring a lawn chair if you plan to take in the whole afternoon.
