About the Zeta Omega 5K Run/Walk For Scholarship
The course runs along the Buckeye Trail through the Bedford Reservation, starting at the Egbert Picnic Area. The trail setting gives it a natural, shaded feel, different from a road race, and there is a shorter walk option alongside the main run. Cash prizes go to top finishers in the open field and in age groups.
A DJ plays before and after the race, and there are refreshments and health vendors on site. The event raises money for a fraternity scholarship fund, so the post-race scene tends to draw families and community supporters alongside the runners.
