About the 9th Annual Yule Run

The route runs through Clinton's historic downtown, following the same streets as the city's Christmas parade. You go from Jefferson Street to Clinton Boulevard, so the surroundings are decorated storefronts and familiar neighborhood blocks. The road surface mixes asphalt and brick, so expect a little unevenness underfoot. Several distance options are available, including a virtual entry for those who cannot make it in person.

Packet pickup runs the day before at a local shop on Oakwood Drive, with race-morning pickup at the registration tent as a backup. Parking is free in the lot at the corner of Jefferson and Madison Streets. Staff will check you in on arrival, so have your ID and registration confirmation ready. No pets on the course, but strollers are welcome.

Common Questions About the 9th Annual Yule Run

Will I finish last at the 9th Annual Yule Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 33:14, and the last recorded finisher came in around 53:33, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 9th Annual Yule Run a good first 5K?

It is a small race (141 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 9th Annual Yule Run?

The 5K winner ran 18:25 while the median finisher took 33:14. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
