About the York White Rose Run 5 Miler

The course runs through the streets of York, which means you get the texture of an actual city under your feet rather than a park loop. The race has a long history and has drawn elite runners from well beyond the region, but the field also includes plenty of everyday runners. A local running club puts it on and keeps the proceeds going to a York-based nonprofit.

The race supports Bell Socialization Services, and the organizing club has a history of directing the bulk of race proceeds to that charity rather than pocketing them. A virtual option lets you run the distance on your own schedule if you cannot make it to York on race day.
