About the YMCA Athol Turkey Trot 5K & Kid's Fun Run
The course follows a loop around Silver Lake, right at the center of Athol, and you repeat it several times to finish the 5K. It is flat lake path running with water alongside much of the way. The kids' dash has a giant inflatable turkey for children to chase, which is exactly as chaotic as it sounds. Costumes are welcome throughout.
The race starts and finishes at the Silver Lake Park pavilion, with the YMCA hosting. Post-race is a Thanksgiving morning, so the crowd is mostly families ready to head home and cook.
