About the Yes You Can 5K

The course starts and finishes behind a middle school, so the surroundings are familiar and suburban. The race benefits local school parent organizations and a connected children's charity, which shapes who shows up: a lot of families, school-community regulars, and people who know each other from pickup lines and PTA meetings.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at a nearby elementary school, with race-morning check-in available behind the same middle school where the race starts. Parking can be tight, so arriving with extra time helps.

Common Questions About the Yes You Can 5K

Will I finish last at the Yes You Can 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 42:38, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:12:17, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Yes You Can 5K a good first 5K?

With 761 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Yes You Can 5K?

The 5K winner ran 16:56 while the median finisher took 42:38. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
