About the Yadi's Yummies' Barktoberfest 5K & 1-mile Walk & Wag
The course runs through Legacy Park, so expect a park setting with paths suitable for dogs on leash. Leashed dogs are welcome to run alongside their people, and the event draws a crowd that is very much about the dogs. After the run, the gathering moves to Frankie Martin's Garden, where vendors and other dog owners stick around for the rest of the morning.
The post-race portion at Frankie Martin's Garden is worth staying for. Vendors set up and the atmosphere shifts from race to outdoor gathering, with plenty of other dog owners around. Proceeds benefit a fund that covers veterinary care for animals in rescues and shelters.
