About the 2026 Wyeast Trailfest

The courses here climb into Mt. Hood's alpine zone, where the terrain shifts between rocky ridgelines, open meadows, and forest trail. The shorter options stay scenic without dropping the mountain character entirely. Everything runs at elevation, so even the gentler distances have some bite to them. The weekend spreads across both days, with the bigger mountain routes going first.

The finish area sits up at Mt. Hood Meadows, with food, craft drinks, and games at the end. Volunteers call out every finisher's name as they come in. It is a proper gathering at altitude, and the post-race scene has some room to breathe before the drive back down.

Common Questions About the 2026 Wyeast Trailfest

Will I finish last at the 2026 Wyeast Trailfest?

Almost certainly not. Half the 31.069 Miles field finished slower than 8:03:18, and the last recorded finisher came in around 12:32:41, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 2026 Wyeast Trailfest a good first 31.069 Miles?

It is a small race (155 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 31.069 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 2026 Wyeast Trailfest?

The 31.069 Miles winner ran 4:24:14 while the median finisher took 8:03:18. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
