About the WPTLA President's Challenge 5K Run/Walk/Wheel
The course runs on paved paths through North Park, mostly flat with just a gentle slope. It draws a genuinely mixed field, from people on foot to wheelchair and hand cycle athletes, all sharing the same route. It starts and finishes near the boathouse on the lake, and leashed dogs and strollers are both welcome.
Everything happens on race morning at the boathouse. Bibs are available at the registration table before the first wave goes off, with walk-in registration closing shortly before that. After the race, there is a silent auction and a raffle on site, with proceeds supporting a local non-profit for physically challenged athletes.
