About the Woozapalooza 5k & 10k Community Run
The course runs out of Normandale Lake Bandshell Park, and the surroundings are park-path quiet. The event is put on by Mile in My Shoes, an organization that builds running teams inside homeless shelters, addiction recovery programs, and reentry centers. Anyone from the community can join in, and the atmosphere reflects that mix of people plainly and without ceremony.
The event is not chip-timed, so it draws people who are there to run together rather than chase a clock. There is a short team gathering and a warm-up before the start, which gives newcomers time to settle in. Participation is free, though a donation to support the program is encouraged.
