About the Wooden Shoe TulipFest Run
The course runs through working tulip fields, so the ground beneath you is farm terrain: uneven, sometimes muddy, and open to whatever the spring sky decides to do. Longer distances push out onto the roads surrounding the farm before looping back. The fields are in full bloom during the festival, which makes for a setting you would not find at a road race.
Entry covers admission to the broader tulip festival, so there is a lot going on around the start and finish beyond the race itself. Plan for the parking and crowds that come with a large agricultural festival, not a quiet solo training run.
