About the Womble Rumble

The course traces a figure-eight shape on mostly paved road, with one lobe noticeably longer than the other. It is flat throughout. Runners doing the longer distance complete a couple of loops of the same course, so you get to know the route well. Proceeds benefit the local high school track and field program and the local track club.

Packet pickup the evening before is held at a brewery in downtown Lodi. On race morning, the course is reached via Turner Road, with highway access from either direction. Post-race refreshments are part of the finish-line spread.

Finish-Time Stats

Going by the 2025 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

Common Questions About the Womble Rumble

Will I finish last at the Womble Rumble?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5000m field finished slower than 31:41, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:12:19, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Womble Rumble a good first 5000m?

It is a small race (132 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5000m, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Womble Rumble?

The 5000m winner ran 16:40 while the median finisher took 31:41. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
