About the Winter Park Turkey Trot 5K
The course runs through Winter Park side streets and a recreation path, at high altitude where snow and ice are a real possibility on Thanksgiving morning. The organizers plow what they can, but plan for cold and uneven footing underfoot. Costumes are encouraged, and the field tends to mix serious runners with people in full turkey regalia.
Packet pickup runs the day before at the Winter Park Information Center and again that evening at Vicious Cycle Brewing in Fraser, with a final pickup window on race morning. The finish line is at Vicious Cycle Brewing, where a post-race pint is waiting. Proceeds benefit local nonprofits and graduating seniors through the Fraser River Valley Lions Club.
