About the Wings of Hope - Cathy Nielsen Walk & Talk
The route crosses the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, so the scenery is the river and the skyline rather than a park loop. The walk has a memorial feel, tied to the founder's sister and to the cancer patients the organization serves, but the morning is also genuinely lively, with a DJ, face painting, sidewalk chalk, and family games.
Registration opens on race morning and the walks follow shortly after. A local bakery brings breakfast pastries and a coffee truck is on site. A parking garage nearby is available for the event.
