About the Wildcat Ramble 5K and Fun Run

The 5K takes runners off the pavement and onto trails behind the school and through the nearby YMCA property. It is a trail run, so expect roots, turns, and natural terrain rather than a flat road loop. The shorter fun run stays entirely on school grounds, keeping it simple for younger legs.

Packet pickup and bib pickup both happen race morning before the start, so there is no need to come out the day before. An awards ceremony wraps things up after the 5K finishes, giving everyone a reason to stick around.

Common Questions About the Wildcat Ramble 5K and Fun Run

Will I finish last at the Wildcat Ramble 5K and Fun Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 35:32, and the last recorded finisher came in around 58:31, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Wildcat Ramble 5K and Fun Run a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (39 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Wildcat Ramble 5K and Fun Run?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 21:34 while the median finisher took 35:32. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
