About the Wickenburg's Wild West Run
The course runs out and back along a dirt road beside Vulture Mine Road, starting from Vulture City Ghost Town. The footing is compacted dirt on the road's shoulder, and the surroundings are open desert with mountain views in the distance. Traffic out here is minimal, which keeps things quiet. Turning back toward town gives you a wide view of Wickenburg spread out below.
Packet pickup opens race morning in staggered waves by distance, so the earlier your event, the earlier you should arrive. Parking at the ghost town is described as plentiful. Bathrooms are available at the start and finish, with an additional one partway out on the course. Awards happen on-site after the races wrap, and a best-dressed western costume contest follows.
