About the Westover Run the Runway 2026
The course runs across an active federal military installation, on flat paved tarmac. That alone makes it unlike most road races. Because it is a working military base, runners must pass a security vetting process beforehand and bring a Real ID on race day. Pets and bags are not permitted on the course, but a key and bag check is available at the start.
The race starts and finishes at Westover Metropolitan Airport on the civilian side, and after you cross the line a car show runs nearby, with food trucks, raffles, and music from several decades. Wheelchair and stroller users are encouraged to arrive early for security clearance.
