About the West Valley Vet Run

The course runs on the campus of a community college in Avondale, where the race is tied directly to a Veterans Day ceremony held the same morning. The shorter distance is open to walkers and families, while the longer route is timed. Proceeds go to a scholarship fund for student veterans at the college.

Packet pickup is on race morning in a parking lot near the front of campus. A popsicle vendor and a coffee stand are both on-site after the run, and the city's police and fire departments bring activities for kids. The ceremony and award presentations follow the race at a campus plaza.
