The course starts and finishes at a brewery, with a stretch along a bike path above Calleguas Creek making up a good portion of the middle miles. The road surface is flat throughout. Two formats run on the same day: a straightforward road race open to all ages, and a team relay where each leg pairs a beer with a mile, with all four teammates crossing the finish line together.
The brewery is the hub for everything before and after. There is beer sampling, discounted food, and live music once the racing is done. The road race kicks off with a group toast for those of legal drinking age, so the pre-start ritual is part of the experience even before the first step.
