About the War Eagles Air Museum Runway 5K and 1 Mile Walk and Airplane Pull
The course runs on an actual airport runway, which gives it a character you rarely find in a road race. The surface is smooth and wide open, with nothing to obstruct the view in any direction. The airplane pull adds a separate team event where groups haul an aircraft down the runway, which draws a crowd of its own.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local running shop, Up and Running on N Mesa, with race-morning pickup available at the museum before the start. The race benefits the War Eagles Air Museum, so the setting doubles as a reason to arrive a little early and look around.
