About the Wallace Huckleberry Festival and 5k Fun Run
The 5k loops through historic downtown Wallace, so the surroundings are old brick storefronts and mountain terrain rather than open road. The course is described as scenic, and given the town sits in a narrow river canyon, there is likely some character to the route even if it stays close to the festival grounds.
The run is part of a larger summer festival, so the finish area is already alive when you get there. A huckleberry pancake breakfast runs that morning at a nearby hotel, and there is a pie eating contest and live music on the main stage throughout the day.
