About the WAKEFIELD BIRTHDAY BASH ROAD RACE: 10K AND 1 MILE FUN RUN
The longer race heads out on a wide main street, then onto a paved highway that crosses Milford Lake. The route mixes gradual hills with open flat stretches, so there is some variety underfoot without anything punishing. A support vehicle follows the field, and there is an aid station partway out. The shorter distance stays flat and adds a small obstacle course near the halfway point.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the Birthday Bash information booth, with an early race-morning window at the same spot. Proceeds split between the town's birthday celebration fund and the local elementary school's parent organization, so the entry fee is doing double duty in the community.
