About the Waggin' Wild 5k & Fun Run

The course runs on the paved greenway at Bur-Mil Park, heading out toward Old Battleground Road and back. A bridge closure has shifted the route, so the out-and-back path avoids that section entirely. The greenway is flat and smooth underfoot, and dogs are not just allowed but genuinely expected. Leashes are required, retractable ones are not.

Packet pickup runs at a local running store and a pet rescue shop in the days before the race, with race-morning pickup available at the park as well. Runners gather near the park's wildlife center to start. After finishing, there is food and a raffle, and awards go to top finishers in both the main race and the fun run, including a category for dogs.
