About the Wabash Trace Running Festival
The course follows the Wabash Trace Nature Trail, a rail-trail paved with crushed limestone that passes through farmland and tree-lined stretches outside Shenandoah. Rail-trails run flat and straight by nature, so this one suits runners after a fast effort. The surroundings are quiet and rural, with open countryside that makes long miles feel shorter.
Several distance options are available, from a short sprint up to a full marathon, all on the same trail. Aid stations are set up along the route. A kids race rounds out the morning for families who make a full day of it.
