About the Veterans Day 5K Beach Run/1 Mile Walk
The course runs along the shoreline at Massengale Park, right on the beach. Sand and surf set the tone, so expect soft or packed sand underfoot rather than pavement. The race is untimed by chip, and there are no age group awards; instead, prizes are drawn at the end for anyone who sticks around. The whole event raises money for programs supporting combat-injured veterans.
Bib pickup runs throughout the week before the race at Game Changers Running Company in Redfern Village, during regular business hours. On race morning, registration and bib pickup open early at the park. You will need to show proof of registration on your phone; cash is not accepted. The start and finish are both at Massengale Park, steps from the water.
