About the Veterans 5K Fundraising Walk/Run
The course runs through the city of Warden, mostly on pavement and sidewalk with a short stretch of gravel mixed in. It starts at Warden Volunteer Park, so the surroundings are familiar and accessible. The terrain is gentle enough that runners and walkers share the morning without much fuss.
Registration proceeds go directly to a local veterans organization, Forward Operating Base Columbia, so the entry fee does double duty. The race was put together by a pair of local organizers, and that grassroots origin shows in the straightforward setup.
