About the Ultra Ultras Turkey Trot 5k
The course runs on paved path through Lake Wailes Park, with a short section of grass along the way. It is flat and straightforward, nothing technical underfoot. The Thanksgiving morning atmosphere draws costumes alongside running gear, and the park setting gives the whole thing a neighborhood-gathering feel.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the park, with a second window on race morning before the start. Afterward, there are hot pumpkin pancakes at the finish, plus bananas and other snacks. An awards ceremony follows, and a kids' fun run for the youngest participants rounds out the morning.
